Food and Civil Supplies

The main objective of the Department of Food and Civil Supplies is to distribute essential commodities to the identified families under the Targeted Public Distribution System at subsidized rates as per eligibility and procurement of food grains at the minimum support price to the farmers to get the optimum price for their produce. Targeted public distribution system was started in the state from January 1, 2016, as per the provision of National Food Security Act 2013, under which according to 2011 census, maximum 64.43 percent of the total population of urban area and maximum 79.56 percent of total population of rural area covered for Antyodaya And PATRA GRAHSTI RATION CARD according to the provision of NFSA, food grains are being provided to them through ePOS machines at a subsidized rate.
