    Smart City Meeting held under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner

    A Smart city meeting was held under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner. He expressed displeasure with the slow progress of works.

    Instructed the concerned officials to complete all tender related pending works within 1 month. Technical evaluation of each project should be completed within 5 days.

    A Smart City review meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner, Shri Sanjay Goyal, in Gandhi Auditorium today, in which he expressed displeasure over the slow progress of works. Reviewing all the projects being undertaken in the second phase, he directed the smart city officials to complete all tender related pending works within one month. He also asked the the CEO, Prayagraj Smart City Limited, Shri Ravi Ranjan, to take up issues related to the pending departmental NOCs with the departmental heads in Lucknow for the speedy disposal of projects. Moreover, on being apprised that some of the projects were getting delayed due to late submission of evaluation reports by the technical committee, he instructed the technical evaluation team to submit all reports within 5 days without fail.

    While assessing the Allahabad Public Library project, under which conservation of the library building and digitization of its books are proposed, he suggested that separate tenders for conservation and civil works should be floated so that experts of both the domains can be engaged for the tasks.

    Regarding the project to develop smart infrastructure facility for sports at Mahamana Malviya Stadium, he directed the concerned officials to submit the final layout only after getting the technical parameters approved by the Regional Sports Officer and the concerned Sport’s department, so that there is no technical objection from the department at the time of final execution of works.

    Under phase-2 list of Smart City projects, there is also a proposal to develop 4 Tourist Information Centers in the city. While reviewing the project, Chairman PSCL laid emphasis on making these centers financially independent as the probability of survival of financially independent Tourist Information Centers is always more.

    During the meeting, District Magistrate, Shri Sanjay Khatri, who was also present suggested that weekly inter-departmental review meetings were imperative to solve all Smart city issues and for speedy execution of pending projects. He also suggested taking approvals in writing from the concerned people in all land related issues.

    The location of 75 smart toilets being developed in the city was also discussed in the meeting, for which the Divisional Commissioner directed the officials to mandatorily get GPS marking of all smart toilets done. He also emphasized on how the aesthetics and maintaining hygiene in all smart toilets was important. Projects related to smart roads, smart schools and multi activity play systems, being developed in about 50 schools and other financial matters were also discussed in the meeting.

    Newly appointed Vice Chairman, Prayagraj Development Authority, Shri Arvind Singh Chouhan, Municipal Commissioner, Shri Ravi Ranjan, Chief Engineer, Municipal Corporation, Shri Satish Kumar, and other officials were present in the meeting.
